Outdoor Exploration Event for Kids

Nature Niño’s is a Yavapai County Community Health Services program designed for families with children ages 0 to 8 to encourage nature play and its many health benefits! Nature Niño’s meets monthly on the first Saturday of the month and leads child- centered play events at different family friendly trails/parks. Park rangers and community partner staff lead scavenger hunts, hikes, nature crafts, story time, and fun lessons on Leave No Trace. You can learn about dates and locations on the City of Prescott Recreation website or Nature Niño’s Facebook or Instagram pages.

Teen Task Force

Teen Task Force is a City of Prescott program that is made of local youths who seek to enhance the community for current and future generations through free, fun, and safe volunteering, peer support, and personal growth activities. See website for membership application.

Outdoor, nature-centric school programs encompass in-class teachings, educational materials, and full-day field classes. Catering to various age groups, the educational programs extend to providing spring break, summer, and fall nature camps tailored for elementary school-aged children.

Youth Agricultural Programs

Located in Prescott. Serves quad cities. a resource of 4-H Youth Development.

Giving youth that extra edge for life success by offering numerous opportunities to develop leadership, responsibility, citizenship and other life skills. 4-H is the largest youth organization in the United States and is open to youth ages 5-19. Youth can participate in a wide-range of hands-on projects from aerospace science, shooting sports, animal husbandry to cooking, leadership, citizenship and much, much more!

YOUTH MENTORSHIP

LOCATED IN PRESCOTT. SERVES YAVAPAI COUNTY. A RESOURCE OF YAVAPAI BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS.

Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters Prescott Office - provides mentors to Yavapai County youth. Matches boys and girls with adult volunteer mentors. They meet weekly to provide friendship, a positive role model, and encouragement.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

LOCATED IN CHINO VALLEY. SERVES CHINO VALLEY. a resource of chino valley public library.

The Chino Valley library offers year round Chess Club for all ages. Storytimes for young children. Chess Club Mondays 3-6pm, Lego Club Tuesdays 3:15-4:15pm, Pet Partners (read to a dog) Thursdays 3:15-4:15pm, and often a variety of something on Fridays. Movie Events/Holiday Events/Craft Workshops for all ages, as well as our annual Free Summer Reading Program with live events and prizes. Offers after school programming. Call for details.
