Assistance and Support for Victims of Crime

Located in Prescott. Serves Prescott. a resource of Prescott Police Department.

The Prescott Police Department Victim Services Advocates work with victims of crime helping connect them with community resources. This includes shelter, food, clothing, etc., assisting in navigating the criminal justice system, and ensuring their rights as a victim are being honored. Victim advocates can act as a liaison between the victim and various agencies involved, not only keeping the victim informed, but giving them a voice. They can work with victims throughout the state but are only able to offer in-person and court assistance to those who live within the city limits.

Prescott Valley Police Department Victim Services Unit provides services to crime victims and anyone in the community seeking assistance. Services include but are not limited to assistance with Protection Orders, navigating the criminal justice process, and community referrals to provide wrap around services. Adults and children affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of victimization who need immediate safe housing, call the helpline and speak to an advocate. Those in our emergency shelter can live there for up to four months as they work their individualized advocacy plan. Family Law - Legal Services Help

Yavapai Family Advocacy Center contracts with local attorneys who specialize in family law. Individuals must meet with a Victim Advocate prior to receiving a referral for Legal Services. Legal services may include assistance with the following: Order of Protection and/or Family Law issues (custody, divorce, support, visitation, etc.). Report Adult Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation

Serves YAVAPAI COUNTY. a resource of Department of Economic Security.

Arizona Adult Protective Services (APS) investigates reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults. APS may also become involved when there is a claim of self-neglect which is when an adult with physical or mental impairments is not able to meet their basic needs (such as food, shelter, health care, managing money, etc.) which then impacts the adult’s physical health, mental health or general safety. The goal of APS is to prioritize an adult’s right to make their own decisions while keeping them safe.

Transitional Housing for Domestic Violence Survivors

Families that have completed their program at Stepping Stones Emergency Shelter may be eligible for the Transitional Living Program. This program allows adults to continue to rebuild their lives while living in a safe and sober environment. Families in transition continue to work with advocates on their long-term goals of becoming self-sufficient.

Victim Advocacy Services

Located in Prescott Valley. Serves Yavapai County. a resource of Yavapai Family Advocacy Center.

Victim advocacy services are provided to the victim and eligible members of his or her family such as parents, guardians, and siblings. These services are designed to give support and education in a one-on-one setting or through support groups. Services are tailored to meet the needs of the individual and may include: assistance with an Order of Protection Court accompaniment, crisis intervention, education on various topics, immigration assistance, information on Victim Compensation, victim rights, and the criminal justice system, individual counseling, and transportation assistance. YFAC provides bilingual services and support to victim of interpersonal crimes.
