Emergency Shelter for Domestic Violence Survivors

SERVES VERDE VALLEY. A RESOURCE OF VERDE VALLEY SANCTUARY.

The 28-bed shelter provides 24/7 trauma-informed care for clients for up to four months. On-site advocates provide safety planning, support groups, case management, intensive advocacy, support programs, referrals and activities for children who reside in the shelter, transportation, self-care support, emotional support, and education about domestic violence and sexual assault.

Lay Legal Advocacy for Survivors of Domestic and Sexual Violence

LOCATED IN COTTONWOOD. SERVES VERDE VALLEY. A resource of Verde Valley Sanctuary.

Lay-legal advocates provide trauma-informed assistance and support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Services assist clients with obtaining Orders of Protection, Injunctions against Harassment, divorce/dissolution, and custody issues/legal decision making. Legal advocates provide emotional support at court proceedings. Advocates do not act as attorneys: unable to provide legal advice.

Report Adult Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation

Serves Yavapai County. a resource of Department of Economic Security.

Arizona Adult Protective Services (APS) investigates reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults. APS may also become involved when there is a claim of self-neglect which is when an adult with physical or mental impairments is not able to meet their basic needs (such as food, shelter, health care, managing money, etc.) which then impacts the adult’s physical health, mental health or general safety. The goal of APS is to prioritize an adult’s right to make their own decisions while keeping them safe.

Transitional Housing for Survivors of Domestic and Sexual Violence

LOCATED IN COTTONWOOD. SERVES VERDE VALLEY. A RESOURCE OF VERDE VALLEY SANCTUARY.

6-unit transitional housing complex, a residency program that includes support services. Residents reside from six months to two years, and are required to establish goals to work towards economic stability.

Victim Assistance and Advocacy

Located in Cottonwood. Serves Cottonwood. A resource of Cottonwood Police Department - Victim's Assistance Unit.

The Victim Assistance Unit offers a number of services to victims of crime, including: case status updates, information on crime victim’s rights, referrals to crisis counseling, on-site crisis intervention and follow-up, advocacy within the criminal justice system and the court processes, assistance with filing petitions for Orders of Protection and Victim Compensation, court accompaniment and support, assistance with emergency needs, such as food, clothing, shelter and transportation.
