Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) is primarily a foreclosure prevention program. HAF funds can be used to pay homeowner mortgage delinquencies, property tax delinquencies, and HOA delinquencies that could result in foreclosure. HAF funds can also be used to pay homeowner utility delinquencies and delinquent insurance with a maximum assistance total of $40,000 per household.

Cottonwood Employer Assisted Housing Program (CEAHP)
Located in Flagstaff. Serves Verde Valley. a resource of housing solutions of northern arizona.
City of Cottonwood will provide down payment assistance to eligible households to be used for down payment and/or closing costs on the purchase of a home. Down payment assistance funds are provided as a 4 to 1 match of homebuyer contribution; buyers can receive up to $40,000 in assistance. Assistance is provided in the form of a loan– secured with a promissory note and recorded deed of trust.

Cottonwood Homeownership Program (CHP)
Located in Flagstaff. Serves Verde Valley. a resource of housing solutions of northern arizona.
The intent of CHP is to provide financial assistance and homebuyer counseling to low-to-moderate income households that are employed within the City of Cottonwood and working towards the purchase of a home within the Verde Valley area, as defined by approved zip code. CHP aims to increase the homeownership rate especially among workforce households, and to revitalize and stabilize communities. CHP aims to serve households that do not have sufficient cash to purchase a home but are otherwise mortgage eligible based on credit & employment. CHP will help first-time homebuyers with down payment and/or closing cost assistance.

A Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) is only available through a Federal Housing Administration (FHA) approved lender; it is the only reverse mortgage insured by the U.S. Government A HECM reverse mortgage enables you to withdraw a portion of your home's equity to use for home maintenance, repairs, or general living expenses.
