Arizona Rental Assistance Program

located in Phoenix. Serves Yavapai County. a resource of Department of Economic Security.

Arizona Rental Assistance alleviates housing instability for eligible low income seniors and families with children. Eligible households may receive a lump-sum assistance payment equal to three (3) times the household’s monthly rent, not to exceed $10,500. Benefits are paid to a landlord, if participating, or to a tenant directly, if a landlord does not or declines to participate. Prior recipients of rental assistance under the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) are not eligible for Arizona Rental Assistance.

Home Ownership Assistance Program

Housing Choice Voucher Program

located in Yavapai County. Serves Yavapai County. a resource of Arizona Department of Housing.

Housing Choice Voucher program (previously know as Section 8 vouchers) offers rent assistance that enables low-income families and individuals to rent from a private landlord with monthly rental assistance administered by the Housing Authority.
The state of Arizona has an allotment of 70 vouchers for homeless veterans and an additional 89 vouchers for the general population of Yavapai County. The waiting list is currently closed – applications are not being accepted at this time. When the waiting list is open, a notice is published in local newspapers and social service agencies are notified. Because of the small number of vouchers, the waiting list is open infrequently.

Subsidized house for individuals with disabilities or a family with a parent with diagnosed substance use disorder. This program includes working with a case manager to met recovery and employment goals and learn new skills. There are offices in Cottonwood and Prescott. Call for more information.
